Speaker: Zongzhu Lin
Abstract:
Gelfand-Zetlin theory is studied by the representations of a tower of groups such as general linear groups, symplectic groups. Jones polynomials were discovered when Jones constructed a tower of von Neumann algebras through basic constructions. In this talk I will discuss the towers of vertex operator algebras and the representation theory, as well as the partial category structures on VOA.
